About Earthwise Organic Farms

Since the summer of 2006 owner Dr. Robert Ellis, a retired
Naturalpath Doctor, frustrated with the high prices and inconsistent
quality of organic produce in the area started this unique, low-labor
cooperative buying club that works for today’s busy families.
Members of the Earthwise Cooperative enjoy a bountiful supply of
exquisitely fresh, produce at a fair price and have
the satisfaction of helping to support their local and national organic
farmers. This increases organic availability, lowers prices and
strengthens public awareness. We take a strong stand towards global
responsibility in that we are very selective in only purchasing items
that come from sustainable farms that are socially responsible. The
cooperative continues to expand throughout the Morongo Basin and
Coachella Valley daily.

The produce is grown locally with 6 farmsites currently in production within 100 miles of the southwestern desert, with an additional farmsite in Joshua Tree currently under construction. The Joshua Tree farmsite owned by Dr. Ellis, was orginally an alfalfa farm dating back to the 1950′s. After purchasing the property in 2000, Dr. Ellis started the process of developing the farm to the current status.
